A Steward’s Calling – The Spirit shows us the way.
The life of a Christian steward models the life of Jesus. It is challenging and even difficult, in many respects, yet intense joy comes to those who take the risk to live as Christian stewards. Women and men who seek to live as stewards learn that “all things work for good for those who love God” (Rom 8:28). Continue reading →
But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: sin, because they do not believe in me; righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned.”
In this ongoing tussle because of the disobedience of some fallen angels whom the Bible calls ‘devils’, we see its reality all around if we ‘READ the Signs of our Times’ and also know our part in helping God ‘BUILD Great Nations.’ While Man was allowed to grow and survive by the Divine Providence of abundant Nature, he could subsist by moving from place to place in search of food. Soon it became evident through experience that they had to settle down. And inevitably the settlement occurred near bodies of water. And soon we see the shores of many rivers become the starting point of mass bodies of settlement which later translated into metro cities. Continue reading →
CARDINAL CAFFARRA: “WE ARE NO LONGER WITNESSES, BUT DESERTERS, IF WE DO NOT SPEAK OPENLY AND PUBLICLY”
I love our Parents, our brothers and sisters and their families. And I love our brother Lord Jesus and His Mother who suffered so much to enable Her Son to fulfill His Mission on earth. When we read the New Testimony, we see Him go out in the midst of people of different communities and address the evils in their midst. He is not just kneeling in prayers for constant communication with His Heavenly Father for us Mankind, but also getting up to SPEAK OPENLY and PUBLICLY. It is not that He wants to condemn us or punish us, but He enlightens us for our awareness to the path of our redemption and as also the community through us.
My younger sibling died at the age of 54 in 2014. He leaves behind a Widowed Mother and his own widow and 3 children. All should have been flourishing in this land of dreams of his Father, who heard and read about the wonders of this abundantly Blessed country America where there was much honesty and hard work among communities sprawled across this vast continent.
It was inspiring as a young child to be told of this country where his friend resided after joining his wife, who was a Nurse, a much sought after vocation for many young women from Kerala as it gives them opportunity to not only earn but to be able to travel and reside in other countries. So even as my Father left Kerala, it is not that all Men and Women who left Kerala chose to live or abide as teaches the Bible. So we lived in the metro city of Mumbai surrounded by people of many Faith. It was then sad to see Christians differentiating among themselves based on their wealth, skin color or their ancestry. While we learn to grow among these to pursue one’s education and life, the impact of these came out strongly in my married life after we moved to what seemed a Miracle then, as so today…a home right opposite a Catholic Church in Chembur, Mumbai. Knowing it to be a great Blessing, I was consciously keeping myself mindful that this was a Blessing for me to hear and attend Mass without having to wade through chaos of traffic and where inevitably we would be late for Mass……But God has His reasons and Plans as He did for me….and a time for everything. We do know how the Church categorises the Widows. Here today I share the plight of a Woman, Mercy our Mother, who became a Widow in 2003. She then chose to live on in her flat in Mumbai even as she had two Sons and their families in the US and one married daughter in Dubai. This Woman if encouraged by all should have led a fruitful and joyful old age even though a Widow. She worked hard alongside her husband and raised 4 children ably on the honest income of her husband….
This husband perhaps had a premonition that he was close to being taken away from his earthly family. So the night before he passed away, he went lovingly to his wife, embraced her and expressed his gratefulness and happiness that she was a loving and faithful wife who stood by him in good times and bad and helped raise his 4 children to be upright and capable of standing on their own two feet. Early in the morning at 5am on July 1, 2003 he passed away peacefully. Continue reading →
Better is a little with justice, than great revenue with iniquity. (Proverbs 16:8)
“Contracts are subject to commutative justice which regulates exchanges between persons and between institutions in accordance with a strict respect for their rights. Commutative justice obliges strictly; it requires safeguarding property rights, paying debts, and fulfilling obligations freely contracted. Without commutative justice, no other form of justice is possible…”
Most of today’s dealing with family members and community is based on word of mouth. We cannot go on writing and signing deeds for normal daily routine activities for life to sustain for there should be TRUST based on Good will among people. I can talk of the Christian faith which has elaborate Teachings and guidance for all aspects of Life as taught and instituted by Jesus. We can then see below how God guides Humanity today through the awesome Gift of this Internet which makes it possible for one and all to SEEK and avail to walk in the midst of Humanity daily, for the Good of All.
2401The seventh commandment forbids unjustly taking or keeping the goods of one’s neighbor and wronging him in any way with respect to his goods. It commands justice and charity in the care of earthly goods and the fruits of men’s labor. For the sake of the common good, it requires respect for the universal destination of goods and respect for the right to private property. Christian life strives to order this world’s goods to God and to fraternal charity.
The Church’s social teaching comprises a body of doctrine, which is articulated as the Church interprets events in the course of history, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, in the light of the whole of what has been revealed by Jesus Christ.202This teaching can be more easily accepted by men of good will, the more the faithful let themselves be guided by it…..” http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s2c2a7.htmContinue reading →
